Fort Lennox Visit
We visited Fort Lennox yesterday. Although it was rainy and our shoes may have been drenched, we still had a great time. The guided tour was excellent, we got to learn all about the history of the fort.

Clos de L'Orme Blanc Visit
Clos de l'Orme blanc opened on a week day to accommodate our group. Lucie gave us a tour of the winery and prepared the wine tasting for us. The vineyard was beautiful and the library within the barn is so unique and incredible.

Reid's Farm Visit
Visiting Reid’s Farm is an amazing way to spend a cool autumn day. And let me tell you, we truly did get lost in the corn maze together but it was lots of fun!
Nature Walks

Lac Boivin
We went for a beautiful walk around Lac Boivin. We ended up walking 6.3 km!!! It was a beautiful trail and we got to see lots of wildlife including turtles, frogs, birds, fish, and even deer.

Cowansville Beach
A beautiful walk along the trail at Cowansville Beach.

Heritage Park
We went for a walk along the Heritage Park trail in Bedford. We highly recommend it, it’s a little steep but the view is absolutely worth it. You can see the whole town and the mountains in the distance.

Fire Prevention
The Bedford Fire Station were generous enough to give us a debriefing on fire safety and how to use fire extinguishers. At the same time we got to climb on the truck, wear the equipment and have real time experience extinguishing fires.

Personal Planning Guide
Sylvain and Sonia came to the Emmanuelle Church to talk to us all about putting our papers in order and end of life planning. It was a wonderful presentation with many useful suggestions!

A delightful evening of painting. Everyone had a great time and the final products turned out quite beautiful.

Making Christmas Gnomes
We had a fantastic time making Gnomes in the spirit of the holiday and the finished product turned out great!

Making Heart-Shaped Pillows
Thanks to Gisèle's initiative, these hearts are made with love for women who have had a mastectomy. They have been donated to the BMP Hospital oncology department. Hopefully this kind gesture will bring some warmth during this difficult time.

Cooking Mexican Food
This was Sam’s first cooking workshop. It was a big success! She did an amazing job! She not only taught us how to make two authentic Mexican dishes (Poblano peppers and cucumber water), but she also gave us a bit of history behind them.

We made revamped Mac n Cheese and decadent brownies with Stephanie. We had a blast!

Cooking with Steph
Steph came in to teach us how to make a delicious omelette with hollandaise sauce and sweet banana bread using products from epicure. A great opportunity to chat and share a meal!
Socializing Workshops

Summer Salad Potluck
Our Summer Salad Potluck was a blast! We had students who came to play a mini concert for us, they were wonderful. It was a fantastic opportunity to talk, catch up, eat delicious salads and dessert and hear some talented musicians.

Soup Café
Our soup cafés happen on a monthly basis, in the summer they are replaced by potlucks and light lunches. They are an excellent opportunity to meet ne people, and catch up.

Are you a trivia fanatic or are you looking for an opportunity to socialize? Well, trivia night is the place to be. It’s a wonderful way to meet new people an get a friendly rivalry going.

Maison de la Famille (Bedford)
Maison de la famille des Frontières came to tell us all about their organization and the services that they offer. They even brought cookies for us to decorate, it was such a fun activity!

Campus Brome-Missisquoi
Lyanne and Patricia came in to tell us all about what Campus Brome Missiquoi has to offer. There are so many interesting programs and it is great that they are willing to work with the students to help them reach their goals. If you are considering going back to school or learning a new trade, Campus Brome Missquoi is a great resource.

Pleins Rayons
Pleins Rayons promotes positive social inclusion of young adults living with an intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder. Breezey, Christopher and Adryan taught us all about what they do as well as the services that they offer.

Mental Health Workshops

Anxiety Workshop
We had our very first interactive anxiety workshop. The afternoon started with a presentation from OASIS santé mentale on what anxiety is and how to recognize the signs. We also got to learn about the benefits of different items and foods on anxiety as well as learn various techniques on how to incorporate self massage and chair yoga into our daily lives to promote positive mental wellbeing. There was also a chance to win one of two anxiety toolkits donated by Mental Health Estrie.

Mental Health Estrie
Jennifer from Mental Health Estrie came in to talk to us about what they do at Mental Health Estrie. She also gave a wonderful presentation on mood disorders such as Bipolar Disorder, Depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder. She also gave us tips on how to reframe our thoughts in a more positive way to change our behaviours and feelings. 🧠🌷

Spark Joy
Natalia Théoret gave a workshop on nourishing joy. We really appreciated all the tips and tricks that she showed us, from breathing exercises to belting out uplifting songs. We truly left the workshop feeling more joyful and relaxed than when we went in.
